Landmark News
Hello from the Landmark Community.
We would like everyone to remember the family of Mr. Sylvester Smith who passed away last week. Mr. Smith was one of our long time residents and he will truly be missed by all the residents and staff, here at the Landmark. Please continue to remember this family in your prayers in the days and weeks to come.
We would like to thank everyone who had a part in the Relay for Life. It was a big success and everyone had a wonderful time. We had a "tiki bar" set up, where we sold tropical drinks, Hawaiian leis, glow necklaces and bracelets, and many other goodies. The overall goal was to raise $54,000 for the American Cancer Society. This year the people of Prentiss County went above and beyond and raised over $70,000. We had an excellent fund-raiser this year. We are already making plans for next year.
Monday, we enjoyed a nice visit out on the front porch with the cool breeze blowing, and Tuesday we enjoyed a few games of bingo.
We had our monthly birthday party on Wednesday, June 20 with the ladies from Gaston Baptist Church who provided us with refreshments and birthday gifts for our birthday girls. Our birthday residents for this month are Julia Nichols, Odessa Michael, Rachel Gentry and Gladys Hill. Happy birthday, ladies!
As the holiday weekend is approaching us, we want to wish everyone a safe and fun week! We are decorating our facility and making plans for the 4th of July that is just around the corner.
Don't forget to go out and watch the parade that is always on the 4th. We will be grilling hot dogs, hamburgers, and bologna that day. We will also be serving ice cold lemonade for the residents to have as they go out to watch the parade.
We have 4th of July prizes that will be given to the residents and we will enjoy some good old fashioned ice cream cones. This is always a fun time for our residents. They enjoy the parade and the fellowship with their family and friends. We invite you to come out and enjoy the 4th of July with us. The parade starts at 10 a.m. We look forward to seeing you.
The residents at the assisted living enjoyed the worship service with Dr. Lynn Jones on Sunday morning and the Bible study with Charlie Kennedy on Wednesday morning. They enjoyed several activities this week such as rolo golf, bingo, and exercises. The residents also enjoyed a Father's Day reception on Father's Day.
We would like to thank all the churches and individuals who came by to visit this past week at the Landmark Nursing and Rehab Center and the Landmark Assisted Living. As always, we look forward to your next visit.
Our next family council meeting will be Monday, July 9 at 5 p.m. in the conference room. Refreshments will be served and all family members are invited and encouraged to attend. If you have any questions feel free to contact Jackie Lambert at 720-0972.
